Stay active in Century City

Century City is the place to be if you love to stay active!  We currently have six standing agreements in place with Sporting Clubs and initiatives making use of common areas in the precinct.

Century City Athletic Club

This amazing bunch of runners are a Century City institution. They are the most active club in the precinct and always play a key role in the success of our annual Century City Sports Festival, with the main attraction being the 10km and 5km road races.  The CCAC recently hosted ‘An evening with Bruce Fordyce’ where other running clubs were invited to the talk and a run in the precinct afterwards.

Practices take place on Tuesday afternoons.

In-2-Touch Rugby

Set in the heart of Century City, the home of corporate touch rugby, Central Park is a 4500m² field which is available to the general community of Century City for use as a venue for corporate gatherings, sporting events or simply some family recreation.

Summer League ran from 2 February 2023 until 18 May, taking place every Thursday evening at the Oval. The Spring season starts in September/October.

Century City Canoe Club

A beautiful sight in our canals is the active canoeing community.  Time trials take place every Tuesday evening. The feasibility of installing disabled access for canoeists at the Intaka Jetty is being investigated.

Cape Town Dragon Boats Association

An exciting addition to our water-based sports, Dragon Boating is a growing sport and a lot of fun.  Weekly practices take place on the waterways.

Century City parkrun

Called the “Monte Carlo of parkruns” by founder Bruce Fordyce, the Century City parkun is very popular and takes place at 8:00 every Saturday and makes use of the 5km running route. The route starts and ends in Ratanga Park, and the average number of finishers is around 600.

Cape Town Kayak Adventure

The commercial kayak and SUP activity (Scootours/”Best day ever” and Cape Town Kayak Adventure/”Cape Town bucket list”) on the waterways, is based near the Bridgewater Hotel.

This forms part of a CCPOA initiative to encourage usage and activities on the canals and especially at and around the new Ratanga Park and adjacent waterways, and to ensure smart, environmentally sustainable interconnectivity of Century City’s common areas.
