There was something special in the air at Central Park on Sunday, 28 September 2025: the sound of live music drifting through the trees, the smell of freshly baked bread and coffee, and the easy laughter of families sprawled out on picnic blankets.
“The first Slow Sunday Market in Central Park was everything we hoped it would be: a chance to pause, reconnect, and enjoy the simple pleasures of good food, good company, and slow living.” says Marinus Boshoff, CEO of Century City Property Owners’ Association (CCPOA).
“The rebrand from our long-loved Natural Goods Market to the new Slow Sunday Market on Central Park marked more than just a new name, it captured the heart of what this gathering has always been about: taking a moment to slow down and savour it all.”
Stalls brimmed with flavour and creativity, from gourmet treats and fresh produce to handcrafted treasures and artisanal goods. Foodies found plenty to explore, while local makers showcased their talent under a sky that stayed bright just long enough for everyone to linger a little longer.
Central Park came alive with activity and laughter. Children ran across the lawns, joined Captain Feathers for photos and high-fives, and bounced away endless energy on the jumping castle. The hands-on pot plant decorating activity was a hit, with little green thumbs proudly taking home their seedlings, while the reptile show drew gasps and giggles in equal measure.
The Century City Tramway added a touch of nostalgia, whisking families away on mini adventures through the precinct. Lawn games, candy floss, popcorn and gelato kept spirits high, while the easy rhythm of live music created the perfect soundtrack to a day well spent.
The success of the Slow Sunday Market lies in the atmosphere it creates: a reminder that sometimes, the best moments happen when we slow down.
“Thank you to everyone who joined us for this beautiful first edition. Your support, smiles and stories made Central Park come alive in the most wonderful way. We can’t wait to see you at the next Slow Sunday Market, where we’ll once again celebrate the simple joy of slowing down together.”
The Slow Sunday Market on Central Park takes place every last Sunday of the summer months – September to April – from 9:00 to 14:00.
