Marinus Boshoff Jan 25

Marinus Boshoff has been appointed as CEO of Century City Property Owners’ Association (CCPOA) as from 1 January 2025, taking over the reins from Chris Blackshaw, who led with excellence for almost two decades.

Marinus has been an integral part of the Century City management team for the past eight years, contributing to the precinct’s innovative journey toward becoming a leading smart city. His efforts have supported Century City’s commitment to creating a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive urban environment. Before joining Century City, Marinus served as a senior officer in the military and developed a professional career centered on delivering strategic, operational, and technology-based solutions tailored to dynamic urban environments.

He holds a BA (Hons) in Business Management and an MBA from the UK, specialising in corporate governance and risk. Additionally, he is a registered member of the UK Chartered Management Institute, having completed his diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice.

A father of three, Marinus is passionate about community and spends his free time working with children with disabilities, reflecting his dedication to inclusivity and positively impacting those around him.

“Century City’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity lies at the heart of its growth and development. The CCPOA recognises that creating a welcoming environment for all – residents, businesses, and visitors – enhances the vibrancy and resilience of the community.’ says Marinus. “By fostering an inclusive mixed-used urban space, Century City ensures that different cultures, ideas, and industries thrive, promoting a sense of belonging for everyone. This diversity is not only a social good but a driving force for innovation, as a wide range of perspectives leads to more dynamic solutions in addressing the needs of its stakeholders, while also building a resilient city capable of adapting to evolving social, economic, and environmental challenges. “

“In addition to inclusivity, Century City is determined to be a leader in Smart City design, with a strong focus on safety. CCPOA integrates cutting-edge technology to streamline city management, enhance public safety, and improve the quality of life for its residents. Smart City innovations, such as facial recognition, the integrated and expanded security solution and digital platforms for citizen engagement (Century City App), allow for seamless operation and make Century City a more liveable and secure urban environment. Through advanced surveillance systems and real-time emergency response, the city strengthens its ability to prevent and respond to threats, ensuring that public spaces remain safe for all. These technologies, combined with data-driven decision-making, bolster both security and the city’s resilience. Moreover, by investing in these resilient infrastructures, Century City ensures its long-term stability and prosperity.”

In conclusion, Marinus believes that sustainability is central to Century City’s future. “CCPOA envisions a city where economic growth, environmental stewardship, and social well-being are well balanced. By prioritising eco-friendly initiatives – such as the Intaka Island renewable energy project, green spaces, and future green projects – the city reduces its carbon footprint and positions itself as a model for urban sustainability. These efforts not only benefit the environment but also attract like-minded businesses and residents who value a safe, resilient, and forward-thinking city.”
