Have you been to the Century City Winter Night Market at Intaka Island yet? This delightful event is held on the last Friday evening of each winter month that offers a perfect blend of food, drinks, and live music. As the sun sets, Intaka Island transforms into a lively market filled with the aromas of delicious cuisine from diverse food vendors and the warmth of delightful drinks.
The soothing melodies of live music can be enjoyed as you stroll through the market, making it a wonderful evening for friends and family to come together, surrounded by the natural beauty of Intaka Island.
The Century City Winter Night Market started a decade ago in June 2014, with the main aim to attract more visitors, and as a result, to raise awareness of Intaka Island, Century City’s spectacular nature reserve.
Soon, it became a favourite destination for visitors and residents alike to huddle around the fire, enjoy delicious food and relax after a week’s work.
Slowly expanding over time, more vendors were added, the tent got bigger and today, we have an average of 1500 visitors per event.
“It has been incredible to see the growth of the Winter Night Market over the years,” says Chris Blackshaw, CEO of the CCPOA. “In 2014 a few people were huddling together around the boma and we had one or two tables. Today, we have an average of 20 vendors, live music and a packed giant tent.”
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to embrace the winter nights in a vibrant, festive atmosphere! You can visit the Winter Night Market from 16:00 to 21:00 on the following Fridays:
