Lowering of water levels in Century City Canals
In the last week of March, we (the CCPOA) will be lowering the level of the water in the canals to facilitate planned repairs to our canal edges.
Access to these canal edges can only be gained by dropping the water level by approximately a metre, the process of which will be closely monitored by our facilities and environmental teams.
The repairs will take approximately 6 weeks and we expect the canals to be back up to their normal levels soon after the onset of the winter rainfall.
The lowering of the water level also affects our Ferry Ride operation that runs between Intaka Island and Canal Walk, this operation will be temporarily suspended and will resume once the canals have returned to their normal levels.
