3000 attend Century City Carols By Candlelight
A record crowd of around 3000 people attended the fifth annual Century City Carols By Candlelight on Sunday 8 December.
The event, which has grown phenomenally since its inception in 2009 where only around 500 people attended, is now attracting families from all over Cape Town.
The first hour was a free play hour with loads of kids’ entertainment including a petting zoo, jumping castles and Santa arriving on the Ratanga Train handing out small gifts to the kids.
While entrance was free, guests were asked to bring a donation of stationery for Sinenjongo High School in Joe Slovo – with about 15kgs of stationery being collected. This will be delivered to the school in the New Year year.
The evening also included a nativity play put on by the Century City-based Shofar Church and 50 primary school learners from the private Century City Curro school.
