From the moment I walked into the spa moment, the staff were friendly and welcoming, I was shown to the waiting room where I was completely spoiled for choice on the variety of refreshments that were available from 7 different types of teas and coffees to the chilled lemon water.

I was met by Hazel, a lovely friendly lady who was only too happy to make sure I was comfortable every minute I was in the Spa, Hazel was very knowledgeable of the products being used as well as informative on each step of the signature pedicure.

Taking into consideration that this was my first time setting foot in a Spa I was literally like a child in a candy store when asked to choose a colour for my nails, but with Hazel being as accommodating as she was, we tested out a few colours until we found the right one that complimented my skin tone before starting the pedicure.

The environment of the nail bar was very quiet and peaceful with soft music in the background and a great view of the pool/deck area outside, Hazel then explained how the Medi-heel foot peel worked and proceeded smear the product on and wrap my feet, allowing this to soak in for 5 minutes or so before scrapping this off and buffing the "rough edges" of my heels and trimming and filing of my toenails . The paraffin treatment was next with a light massage to ensure that the product was absorbed evenly into my skin before rinsing and leading into the caviar jelly soak.

Yes Caviar jelly soak, a light pink bubbling warm consistency that reminded me of my 5-year-old daughter's slime, it was the weirdest thing I had ever felt on my feet and I was very judgmental as to how this would leave my feet and legs feeling super silky smooth, please let me tell you how incredibly wrong I was ....

After that initial awkward sensation it very quickly turned into a "where has this been all my life" moment, the warm solution absorbed into my skin almost hugging it as if to say "we got you girl", and the massage that accompanied it was very welcoming after the long day I had had on my feet. Hazel then allowing me to just relax for 5-10 minutes in the warmth of the caviar jelly soak.

A salt solution was added to the mixture and almost in an instant (with sadness in my eyes) I watched it dissolved and ran down the drain, my feet and legs were rinsed off in lukewarm water and the third and final massage was about to begin and let me tell you Hazel really did save the best for last.
The hot stone massage was amazing, my one foot was wrapped in a plastic sleeve and then placed in a warm sock gentle resting on the pillow provided, whilst Hazel started massaging my other foot and leg with the hot rock interchanging in between her left and right hands checking to see at what strength I would like the massage.

At this point I was completely relaxed and fighting the urge to slid down in the chair and close my eyes, instead, I watched how Hazel maneuvered the hot rock up and down my muscles with ease, which left me wondered whether she had hands of asbestos but I suppose that's a professional for you.

After covering my legs with a towel and leaving me to relax for another 5 or so minutes, Hazel proceeded with the final part of the pedicure with the colour we had chosen earlier, a double coat and a top coat finished off my first ever experience at a Spa. Hazel provided me with a pair of flip flops in order to allow my nails to dry before I slipped my beautifully silky smooth and oh so pretty feet back into my pumps I had arrived in.

My overall experience of the Life Day Spa was one that definitely made me wonder why I had not made the time to do this before, I can highly recommend this particular pedicure as well as the Life Day Spa in general, and can completely understand why they some many awards within their industry over the last couple of years.

I work for BulkSMS.com in Century City as the Office Administrator and Receptionist I have been with the company for 9 years and love what I do.

I have a 5-year-old daughter, I'm very much a petrol head and enjoy watching F1 racing as well as attending race meetings at Killarney to check out the V8's, bikes, GTI challenge, formula Libra etc.

My daughter loves joining me at the track, however, if there is no racing on the weekends and my husband is not working we love braaing with friends and spending time with our daughter doing some of her favourite things.
