Miguel Rodrigues, a project manager with Rabie Property Group – the developers of Century City – took this picture at the Comrades Marathon Wall of Honour while on  a trip to KwaZulu Natal last weekend.
The plaque commemorates the 2004 win of Vladimir Kotov, Century City’s brand ambassador who has won the gruelling ultra-marathon three times and taken gold seven times.
The Wall of Honour is situated along the Comrades Marathon route at a point where the road overlooks the Valley of a Thousand Hills.
It was created several years ago to serve as a permanent landmark to commemorate the achievements of Comrades Marathon runners who have completed the epic journey  between Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
A former Olympian, Vladimir was the first Masters runner home this and the 20th runner overall  in the 2012 Comrades Marathon which he completed in a time of 5 hours 48 minutes and 12 seconds.
This downhill run was the thirteenth Comrades Marathon undertaken by the 53-year-old athlete.
The three times he won was in 2000, 2002 and 2004.
If you have any pictures of these plaques or of other Comrades runners who live or work at Century City please  email them to us at bianca@centurycity.co.za  and we can start our own virtual Wall of Honour.
