For everything there is a season, and this is the season to be festive, to shop, to cook, to enjoy family and friends, to give, to receive, to give thanks, and to do some Christmas shopping at the Century City Natural Goods Market, the last one of the year before the holidays.

Shoppers will be accompanied by the bluesy, folk sounds of Dave Knowles, a one-man-guitarist with a penchant for finger-style forms music. As the new wave acoustic scene continues to grow and thrive, so do the influences which inform Dave’s style. Each song gains its dynamic through the interplay of beats over delicate picking and powerful rhythmic build-ups.

As always, there’s entertainment for children too and this week, we’ve got a dog show by Dogzcool (www.dogzcool.com). They promise a show that super amazing, talented, happy, energetic dog that adore performing for audiences. The Incredible Dog Show is highly entertaining, very informative, educational, inspirational, and filled with energy, passion, laughter and fun.

While there’s an entertaining menu for visitors, the market gives shoppers time to celebrate the festive side of life with a glass of organic bubbly while browsing around the great selection of quality products and delicious food, kept cool and safe under stretch Bedouin tents created by Touareg.

We’re renowned for our food stalls, and there’s something new at this market: we have a fantastic fish braai that includes tuna burgers on that wonderfully tasty Afrikaans break, asbroed. There’s also prego on asbroed for those who prefer traditional steak on the braai.

As always, there are healthy gourmet meals, curries, salads, samoosas, smoked fish, fishcakes, biltong, pies, vegetarian, cheeses, beer, champagne, wine, specialty coffees, tea, cakes, cookies, preserves, olives, freshly baked farm breads, confectionary, jams, freshly squeezed juice and smoothies – we’ve got it all!

If you are looking for original gifts, there will be stalls selling crafts and clothing at reasonable prices, or you can spoil yourself with fabulous natural body care products and jewelry.

The on-site clubhouse has seating facilities, and offers coffee, tea and a bar. Visitors can also enjoy boat trips from Intaka Island to Canal Walk.

For the mutt lovers, African Tails will be hosting an adoption day with the cutest brakkies and puppies. Their stunning calendar is also on sale, and makes a wonderful gift.

We’re also hosting the Brave Recovery Warriors, an NGO that will have a stall selling organic, medicinal products and gifts made by the Brave for the Brave with care and courage. For each item sold, one is donated to someone in hospital who is recovering from physical trauma.
