More than 30 children aged between six and 12 years participated in the Intaka Island Holiday Programme at Century City during the first week of July.

The extremely popular holiday programme, which is held on the Intaka Island wetlands reserve during the first week of all Western Cape school holidays, is best suited for learners between Grades 1 to 7.

Adél van Wyk, the manager of the Intaka Eco-Centre, said children are treated to a range of activities throughout the day incorporating many wonders of Intaka with a healthy dose of fun. Children are able to attend half day or full day programmes.

Activities include getting up close and personal with the insects and animals of Intaka Island, building creatures out of recycled materials, using binoculars to identify some of the birds on Intaka Island and exploring the life in the waters of Intaka Island through a microscope.

The next holiday programme will be held from October 2 – 6. For further details and bookings go to www.intaka.co.za or telephone 021 5526889.
