Everyone at Century City can now get access to the precinct’s fibre optic network which is enabling the country’s fastest voice, broadband and multimedia services.
Hein de Swardt, operations manager for Century City Connect, the company driving the rollout of the cutting edge network, said they had now taken fibre past all premises within the precinct – a benchmark used internationally to state the reach or success of a fibre optic network.
He pointed out that because it was an open access network, users were not tied into any one particular Internet Service Provider for a lengthy period and were able to shop around for competitive packages.
“We have been working closely with the six ISPs who have been accredited to date to introduce exciting new business packages which vary from 2Mbps up to 1Gbps.
“Residential fibre to the home packages available through ISPs on the network are 5Mbps, 10Mbps, 20Mbps, 30Mbps and 50Mbps,” he said.
