The annual Century City Sports Festival which includes a 10km Road Race, the Century City Express, will take place from Friday March 2 until Sunday March 4.
Chris Blackshaw, CEO of the Century City Property Owners’ Association which represents all stakeholders at Century City, says this is the fourth consecutive year they had staged the sports festival and it had grown exponentially.
“This year’s festival promises to be even bigger and better than previous years,” he said.

Aimed at both corporate teams and individual participants and providing both participatory and spectator sports, the Festival will again be held in and around Central Park and will include fun, food and entertainment for the whole family.
The signature event of the Festival is a 10km Road Race, the Century City Express, which forms part of the Western Province Athletics calendar. Building on the success of previous years, the 10km Century City Express is over a flat, fast course and is again expected to attract a large number of runners  attempting to achieve personal best times over the distance. Cash prizes will be awarded to category winners and places with the first 1000 finishers receiving medals.
This will be followed by a 2,5km Family Fun Run/Walk.

The Festival will also include Corporate Touch Rugby tournaments,  Five-a-side Corporate Soccer competitions,  Kermesse Road Circuit Cycling races, Junior and Senior Canoe Marathons, Western Province Trials for Canoe Polo, a Dragon Boat Regatta as well as Junior Touch Rugby and Soccer competitions. In addition cricket has this year been added to the mix with an under 11 six-a-side Cricket tournament.
Great spot prizes and lucky draws for participants in the other sporting codes will be awarded.

Corporate teams wishing to participate in the Touch Rugby tournaments should contact Neil or Graham on 021 4398646.
